Prerequisites

A Tektronix instrument(included on the accompanying list), or a PC equipped with 600+MHz, 256 MB RAM, HD, Microsoft Windows XP Professional with SP2 or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with SP4 or Windows Vista, Mouse, Keyboard. From either Windows instruments or external PCs if communication with external instruments via GPIB, rs232 or LAN is desired, appropriate communication bus connections must be established. If installing on a Windows instrument, please install the current firmware for the particular model. For more information on this please see the readme text on this web page.


Description

This version of TekVISA is appropriate for the instruments listed on this download page. Be sure the instrument(s) with which you are using this version of TekVISA is on this list.

TekVISA is the Tektronix implementation of VISA (Virtual Instrument Software Architecture), an industry-standard communication protocol.

When installed on a PC, TekVISA provides communication with instruments that are connected to the PC via various communication buses. When installed on a Windows-based instrument, TekVISA enables communication between the oscilloscope and applications running on the Windows desktop and external instruments.
