The new programmers manual is available on www.tektronix.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.2.0034 Date: April 16, 2010 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This release note summarizes new features, improvements and bug fixes contained in the above software release. The current software for SignalVu is available at www.tektronix.com SignalVu provides vector signal analysis software for the following Tektronix Oscilloscopes: DPO70404B, DPO70604B, DPO70804B, DPO71254B, DPO71604B, DPO72004B DSA70404B, DSA70604B, DSA70804B, DSA71254B, DSA71604B, DSA72004B MSO70404, MSO70604, MSO70804, MSO71254, MSO71604, MSO72004 DPO70404, DPO70604, DPO70804, DPO71254, DPO71604, DPO72004 DSA70404, DSA70604, DSA70804, DSA71254, DSA71604, DSA72004 DPO7054, DPO7104, DPO7254, DPO7354 Scope firmware version 5.1.0 or higher is required to operate this version of SignalVu. Version 2.2.0034 adds the following functions. - Baseband (I & Q) input support for live I/Q analysis without additional post-processing. - Single ended and differential I and Q inputs. - Calibration of DC offset distortion between I and Q channels. - Total I/Q bandwidth of 40GHz (on a 20 GHz bandwidth scope). - Support for zero IF and near-zero IF signals. - FastFrame acquisitions which capture more pulses by using memory more efficiently. - Ease of use improvements to get to answers faster that include: -- A "Synch scope cursor" function moves the scope marker to the same time point as the SignalVu marker. -- When acquisition is stopped, the new "Transfer again" button allows you to change SignalVu analysis parameters, including bandwidth, then re-transfer and analyze the same acquisition data using the new analysis settings. -- Control of scope sample rate directly within SignalVu. -- New "Restore Scope" menu item; keyboard no longer required for swapping displays. Bug fixes and other enhancements -------------------------------- - TIQ file header modified to include scope settings with the SignalVu settings. - Improved signal processing performance resulting in faster data transfer and analysis. - Scope SPC cal status is now displayed in SignalVu. - Updated status bar readout to say "Scope sample rate nnn GS/s" vs. readout that showed "GHz". - Removed RF IF optimization pulldowns in SignalVu menus. Known Issues ------------ The following are known issues. If available, a workaround is given. - Occasionally when SignalVu starts in free trial mode, the scope dialog that informs the user of the number of remaining trials will not be displayed. The free trial count is always decremented, just the reminder *may* be missing. - Recalling a TIQ file saved while using a prior release of SignalVu can result in a time shift of about one IQ sample and an increase of about one IQ sample in the number of points analyzed. When this happens the messages "Analysis time was adjusted" and "Analysis length was limited" are displayed. This only occurs when the Acquire > Sampling Parameters > Adjust selection in the saved TIQ file is not All Auto. This error is cleared by adjusting the Analysis Length to a slightly smaller value and selecting Replay. This possible time shift is due to an updated method for precharging digital filters. - Measurement results on a saved oscilloscope .wfm file may be slightly different than in previous releases. There is a possible time shift of one IQ sample and a one-sample increase in the number of data points analyzed by the measurements. - FastFrame does not work with Math and Reference waveforms. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.1.0097 Date: December 17, 2009 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This release note summarizes new features, improvements and bug fixes contained in the above software release. The current software for SignalVu is available at www.tektronix.com SignalVu provides vector signal analysis software for the following Tektronix Oscilloscopes: MSO70404, MSO70604, MSO70804, MSO71254, MSO71604, MSO72004 Scope firmware version 5.0.0 or higher is required to operate this version of SignalVu. Version 2.1.0097 adds the following functions. - Support for MSO70000 series oscilloscopes. Bug fixes and other enhancements -------------------------------- - Fix for an operational error that may occur during certain transient conditions. - Improved sidelobe search for the pulse impulse response measurement. (Option SVP) - Improved Run/Stop behavior and interaction with scope control. - Added average trace detection to ACPR and MCPR measurements. - Reduced total samples/symbols required for modulation measurements. (Option SVM) Known Issues ------------ The following are known issues. If available, a workaround is given. - The frequency control for the Amplitude vs Time, Frequency vs Time, Phase vs Time, and RF I&Q vs Time measurements actually controls 'measurement frequency' even though control label reads 'center frequency'. - Starting with v2.0.104 a "FILE NOT FOUND" error may appear in the event log one time after the initial upgrade is completed. This is the result of a change to the disk location for the saved power-down instrument state. Workaround: None needed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.1.0091 Date: October 14, 2009 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This release note summarizes new features, improvements and bug fixes contained in the above software release. If available, a workaround is given. - Long acquisitions cannot be aborted. SignalVu always waits for the scope to finish the current acquisition before aborting or performing other actions. - Large span/RBW ratios can exhaust available virtual memory. A message is displayed for this condition. Decrease span or increase RBW to clear the condition. - Fast frame acquisition mode is not supported in this release. - Changing settings when using recalled WFM files (for example, Center Frequency, Span) may not work properly. To change settings first set up the measurement parameters in SignalVu, THEN recall the WFM (with high enough sample rate and enough samples). - Under some conditions an exception may occur when attempting to uninstall the SignalVu application. Workaround: In Add/Remove Programs for the SignalVu application - First select Change->Repair, then select Change/Remove. The application should remove successfully. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 1.3.576 Date: October 27, 2008 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- This release note summarizes new features, improvements and bug fixes contained in the above software release.
