It is also recommended that you read the TekVISA Release Notes. Version 1.8 highlights: Added support for MSO3000, MSO2000, and DPO2000 Series instruments Version 1.7 highlights: Supports all Tektronix Value Oscilloscopes introduced in the fall of 2008. Supports two byte high resolution waveform data for High-Resolution and Average acquisition mode. Addresses the issue of losing the Vertical Position and Offset information while writing to and reading from the .CSV files. Support for DPO4000 and MSO4000 series .ISF files. Fixes the screen capture display and save problems for DPO3000, DPO4000 and MSO4000 instruments. Bitmap was going out of OCD display screen area. Plug and play support for instruments connected through USB. OCD automatically connects to the instruments plugged in via USB. Version 1.6 highlights: Support for new DPO3000 and TDS3000C Series instruments More issues fixed with regard to .CSV file save/recall Version 1.5 highlights: Screen Capture problem with Ink-Saver mode ON in DPO/MSO4000 Series is fixed Waveform data transfers now support 100k, 1M, and 10M record lengths on the DPO/MSO4000 Series Waveform data capture graticule now supports 10 vertical divisions Issues with saving incorrect waveform data to .CSV files are fixed Microsoft Vista support added Language Support OpenChoice Desktop supports the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. OpenChoice Desktop will display help in the native language of the Operating System. If the Operating System language is not supported, OpenChoice Desktop will display help in English. Supported Oscilloscopes OpenChoice Desktop supports Tektronix TDS200, TDS1000/B, TDS2000/B, TDS3000/B/C, DPO2000, MSO2000, DPO3000, MSO3000, DPO4000, and MSO4000 Series Digital Oscilloscopes. Note - TDS3000B Series requires Firmware Version 3.27 or higher. OpenChoice Desktop online help requires the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe). Starting with the release of Windows Vista, the Windows Help program will not ship as a standard Windows component. Hence, Windows Vista users need to download and install this Help program from: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=82148 Windows NT, Windows 98 or earlier Windows versions may install but will not operate correctly Hardware Pentium III (or equivalent) or later processor =500 MB RAM 640 x 480 resolution, 16 bit (High Color) color or higher. Using TekVISA, the following communication methods are supported: Asynchronous Serial (RS-232) COM Ports No support for ports setup for serial computer-to-computer networking. No support for ports used for PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) Hot Sync with PDA. GPIB (NI 488.2 compatible) VXI-11 (Ethernet) USB Known Issues The waveform display feature in the Waveform Data Capture tab may produce an incorrect display for 10M record length acquisitions on signals above ~1 MHz. The waveform data is correctly saved, but may be incorrectly displayed. If you need to view the waveform within OpenChoice Desktop, use the Screen Capture tab. The Auto Connect Feature in USB Plug and Play for OpenChoice Desktop may fail to connect to the desired Instrument when multiple instruments are being connected through USB to the same computer. In this situation, the user can manually navigate to the "Select Instrument" dialog and select the desired instrument to connect to.
